The Original Grain Company teams up with Dihlabeng
We have expanded our AAPP Program further into the Free State, this time teaming up with the Dihlabeng Municipality in Clarens. 50 HA of land which has never been utilised will be prepared, planted and see its first Wheat Harvest in December. The local community involved in the project will receive the necessary support and training from us to see a successful harvest through. The Original Grain Company has provided the start-up capital needed via the AAPP Program which opens the door for this community to be sustainable and self-sufficient.
Work on the land commenced on the 14th of July, with numerous stages of preparation needed under the guidance of our Team on the ground. By the 21st of July 50 HA of Wheat Seeds would have been planted and the community on the way to a successful Harvest at the end of the year. Using Field Margin, the local Municipality will upload the necessary data allowing us to record and monitor the progress. In addition, weekly site visits and further training in the ground will allow the local community to ownership and responsibility of this crop.
We look forward to teaming up with the next local community to assist in the harvesting of suitable crop on available land.
